Lee Valley Walk
Saturday 22 March 2025
The next Refugee Tales walk will be held in the Lee Valley and is led by Gordon Parker!
Meeting point
We will meet at Cheshunt Railway station (there are trains from Liverpool Street station) at 10:30 am to leave at 11:00am.
Our Route
The route is 9 miles/15 kms and almost entirely flat - there is one (optional) hill to the highest point in Essex.
We will be in a wetlands area and sections of the walk are likely to be muddy, so wear appropriate footwear. There is one toilet at the station and others along the route.
It is lovely circular route which follows a sculpture trail through the River Lea Country Park and into Waltham Abbey where Harold is thought to have been buried in 1066.
Please bring a packed lunch and water.
