Walk With Us - 1st June

The next Refugee Tales walk will take us from Finsbury Park Train Station to Alexandra Palace.

We will meet from 10:30am and our walk will start at 11:00am. We expect to reach Alexandra Palace at around 4pm.

Meeting point

We will meet at Station Place outside Finsbury Park Train Station (turn to the left as you exit). Finsbury Park has more than one exit from the station: follow the Exit signs to Station Place.

Station staff know it as the Main Entrance/Exit - there should be buses in front of you as you exit. If there is a M&S (Marks & Spencer’s) you are in the wrong place and it is a long walk anti-clockwise to reach the correct place so do look for the right Exit signs when you get off the train.

Our Route

We will walk 8 miles/13km. Our route is rather flat, with a couple of short but quite steep hills. The walk is mainly off-road, not on tarmac, through lovely parks and woodland.

Over the entire 7.75 miles there is 124m/406ft ascent and 153m/501ft descent. About one third of the route is on an old railway track so the gradient is very gentle. About one-third of the descent is in the last kilometre/half mile from Alexandra Palace down the road to the station.

Highlights of the route include the New River, Woodberry Wetlands, Finsbury Park, Parklands Way, Highgate and Queens Woods and Alexandra Palace, with unrivalled views across London.

We will finish our walk at Alexandra Palace Station where you will find trains every 15 minutes with interchanges to the London Underground at Finsbury Park, Highbury & Islington and Moorgate.
